Elizabeth Darcy Jones will be performing her one-woman show “Dong, Ding! Let the Kettle Sing!” for the first time outside London. She’s known as Britain’s tea-poet, and she’ll be serving up an inspiring pot of “poetea” at UGT.
Elizabeth will be dipping into her new book Distinguished Leaves: Poems for Tea-lovers, that brings to life no fewer than thirty-seven loose leaf teas and three tea characters. Hence, you’ll meet Miss Pouchong and the lazy monk, Lapsang – not forgetting Jasmine Pearls.
The show is punctuated by anecdotes and tea lore, along with three musical numbers composed by Captain Teacake. Your ticket also entitles you to a taste in the interval of the Dong Ding Oolong tea that inspired the show’s title.
