The internationally renowned Norah Sande Award attracts some of the most exciting young adult pianists on the brink of their professional performing careers. Former entrants include several BBC Young Musician of the Year finalists. Last year’s winner Cordelia Williams also won the piano section of the BBC’s Young Musician of the Year and had already performed in some of the world’s most celebrated concert halls.
The importance of this award on the musical calendar is reflected in the calibre of the award’s patron, international concert and recording artist and broadcaster Freddy Kempf, a former BBC Young Musician of the Year himself and winner of a Classical Brit Award.
