There will be a rare opportunity to view royal works of art at Eastbourne’s newest venue All Saints Chapel in Meads on 30 April – the day after the royal wedding.
For one day only, signed limited edition lithographs by HRH The Prince of Wales will be on display at the Grade II* listed building. The prints cover subjects such as the beautiful royal homes of Balmoral, Sandringham, Highgrove and Windsor Castle, and landscapes of the Prince’s favourite places, including Yorkshire, Greece, Klosters, Arabia and Scotland, capturing the Prince’s love for the natural beauty of the countryside.
The lithographs are being sold to raise money for the Prince of Wales’s Charitable Foundation and are expected to fetch in excess of £5,000 each.
The artwork is being exhibited by Mark and Carrie Bird in association with The Belgravia Gallery in London’s Mayfair.
Carrie said: “The royal family will be on everyone’s minds that weekend, and this exhibition gives a real sense of occasion to those visiting or living in Eastbourne who want to get involved in royal wedding activities.”
The exhibition opens from 10am-4pm. Tickets are £8, concessions £6 (under 18s and over 60s) and can only be purchased on the day at All Saints. For more information visit www.allsaintschapel.co.uk.
All Saints Chapel, Darley Road, Meads, Eastbourne, is a Grade II* listed French gothic revival building, with a Belgian alter, German stained glass windows and a unique Harry Potteresque font.
Built between 1867 and 1869, it was originally an Anglo-Catholic nunnery and convalescent home. The site served as an NHS hospital for many years until it closed in 2004.
